A novel hammer mill to improve grinding performance

For 60 years, the IFF -  Internationale Forschungsgemeinschaft Futtermitteltechnik e.V. (International Research Association Feed Technology) has been addressing technological issues in the production of compound feed. A new kind of hammer mill for grinding animal feed components and mixtures will now enhance the Niedersachsen-Technikum in Braunschweig. It will be used to conduct research into how the grinding performance can be increased and the particle structure optimised. For this purpose, we have integrated the system into the process flow as well as providing the required electrical materials. The pilot operation is set to start in the next few months. We are pleased to be able to support this project and, in doing so, to contribute to technological progress, since, as a member company, we also use the results of research to develop our own automation solutions.

The new hammer mill at the IFF in Braunschweig will be used to research grinding performance and optimisation options for particle structure.
